2013 Ford Focus ST Takes on the Competition

Ford has been taking big steps the past few years to make their brand one of the top competitors in their class. This is no different for the 2013 Ford Focus ST and Ford has really beefed up this model to make it a true competitor with other automaker's models.

The new Focus has been a true speed demon as it faces off against 3 different cars for the latest episode of Focus ST Sessions. The first dual was with the Mazdaspeed3 and the Focus passed by with thanks to the variable ratio steering rack and torque steer compensation. The next car in its sights was the Subaru WRX and the Focus over took the WRX with ease because of the 20 PSI Overboost and 270 lb.-ft. of torque.

The final challenge for the 2013 Ford Focus ST is the iconic BMW M3. Up against the 414 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque of the M3, the Focus ST was defeated while the M3 left a trail of dollar signs behind it. The M3 coming in at $62,295, where the Focus ST costs a mere $24,495. By our calculation for $37,800 less, you still get 252 horsepower, 270 lb.-ft. of torque. If you ask us, the 2013 Ford Focus ST is a much better choice.
