The new 2013 Ford Escape is gearing up for its prime-time debut. No, it won't be in a flashy new commercial or unveiled at an auto show, the SUV is the star of the show. Ford partnered up with NBC and Telemundo for the new reality series Escape Routes, which pits six teams against each other in a road-trip challenge across America.

Ford is no stranger to showcasing new models in a unique fashion. The American automaker took to social media to reveal the latest editions of both the Fiesta and Explorer. In Escape Routes, viewers will have the opportunity to fully-interact during each episode, with the ability to participate in different challenges, as well as track their favorite team in real-time in the digital space.

Each week, the show contestants enter a different city in their Escape, starting in Los Angeles and making pit stops in Atlanta, Las Vegas, Miami, New York and San Francisco and tackles a variety of local challenges. The winning team takes home a grand prize of $100,000 and two 2013 Ford Escapes. Viewers who interact with the show along the way at home and online could also win a new Ford Escape, trips, and high-tech gadgets.

Escape Routes, hosted by Rossi Morreale, is also unique as the series will be marketed to both NBC and mun2, a bicultural network for young Latino Americans. It's the first time Ford will take part in a joint venture on market broadcast and bilingual networks. The series will air for six weeks on NBC starting March 31 on Saturdays at 8 p.m. Eastern Time. On mun2, the series will air Saturdays at 11 p.m. Eastern, as well.
