2012's Ford Focus Electric, with a plug-in electric 107kW magnet electric traction motor, is coming to Anderson Ford of West Clinton, IL soon. Along with it, new Ford technology will help drivers connect to their vehicles on a personal level. In fact, Ford Focus Electric may even guess where you're driving too next.
The MPGe estimates of Ford's EV is 110 city / 99 hwy / 105 combined. There are loads of in-car extras to help you monitor these numbers, but AT&T has developed an app with MyFord Mobile, which tracks much of this information, and more, outside of the vehicle.
For iPhone and Android users, MyFord Mobile activates the car's remote start, checks battery status, and can even guess the possible future use of the vehicle. Owners can see how the insides of their Fords are working, without being near the car.
"Note that this app comes with a 5 year subscription, after which you'll have to pay subscription fees which have not yet been announced," Slash Gear reminds us. 1
The MyFord AT&T app will also update charge status, as well as locate nearby charging stations. MyFord app even displays the amount of CO2 emissions coming from the electric Focus.
The 2012 Ford Electric Focus is available for $39,995 MSRP, before an offer of $7500 to $10,000 off the price of an electric or hybrid vehicle, depending on the state of purchase..
