While NASCAR may have fallen far from its roots as a legitimate stock car racing organization, the organization deserves some credit for trying to give racers and companies some more "wiggle room." What we mean is that NASCAR is giving car builders a little more leeway to help the track cars stand out from one another, and allow fans to be better able to identify what production vehicles are represented at the races.

Ford's 2011 Explorer and 2012 Focus go off the wall

Ford has been testing its upcoming 2012 Focus extensively, and it's already put the compact through 12,000 crashes in both the virtual and real worlds. Ford says that the Focus features advanced restraint systems as well as next-generation airbags that feature upgraded chest-protection technology. Ford really wants owners to personalize their vehicles, and over the past year the automaker has launched custom graphics for the Mustang, Taurus, Fiesta and F-150.
